Ashley grew up in Forest Ohio. She graduated from Riverdale High School in 2000. She went on to attend Owens Community College where she obtained her Associate Degree in nursing, She practiced as a registered nurse in the emergency department setting. In 2014, she continued her nursing education at Ohio University obtaining a Bachelor of Nursing degree, and continued her education to obtain a Master's of Nursing, Family Nurse Practitioner degree in 2018. She joined the practice of C.D. Sears MD, Inc. in January of 2023.
